Agartala: Tripura CM Manik Saha on Wednesday said his govt is committed to serving the people and directed all departments to remain vigilant, proactive and accountable in addressing citizens’ concerns.Reviewing departmental performance at a Task Monitoring System meeting, Saha called for regular monitoring to ensure timely delivery of public services and faster resolution of public grievances.He flagged traffic management and public safety as priority areas, stressing the need to strengthen enforcement and ease congestion in district headquarters, including Agartala. He directed officials to ensure heavy vehicles comply with prescribed weight limits, keep traffic signals consistently operational, and expedite the development of new motor stands across the state.Saha also asked police to intensify vigilance against drug smuggling, particularly through railways, and ordered strict supervision of nursing homes, rehabilitation centres and sub-registry offices to ensure integrity and prevent corruption.Ahead of the rainy season, he directed district magistrates and health officials to implement preventive measures to avert outbreaks of diarrhoea and dysentery. He also stressed maintaining a disciplined learning environment in schools and ensuring the quality and management of mid-day meals.On infrastructure and welfare delivery, Saha instructed departments to complete city road renovation works quickly without compromising quality, and to closely monitor timely disbursement of MGNREGA funds so daily wage workers receive wages and allowances on time.
