Kanpur: Bulldozer action was taken to demolish an illegal structure built on gram samaj land built by man accused of gang rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl in Bidhnu, Kanpur, on Wednesday. Acting on court orders, Naib Tehsildar Rajesh Tiwari, RI Rambhavan Singh and Lekhpal Kalpana Singh, accompanied by police force, reached the village and demolished the house along with tubewell built on 13 biswa of gram samaj land using a bulldozer. The land vacated was handed over to the gram pradhan. Nirman police station in charge Tej Bahadur Singh said encroachments built by the accused were demolished on court orders by tehsildar and police force.On Mar 16, an 11-year-old girl was grazing goats in a field 200 metres from her home when the accused, Sunny (26), from the same village, abducted her and gang-raped her with his two brothers Kamal (22) and Ashish (32). Later, they strangled her to death.At night, with the help of his father, Sunny buried the body behind bushes in a wheat field 500 metres away. The girl’s family began searching for her but could not find her anywhere. On receiving tip-off about the burial, police exhumed the body.After the incident, police arrested all four accused and sent them to jail. eanwhile, on district magistrate’s instructions, a report on the accused’s illegal encroachments was prepared and presented in court.
