Hyderabad: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) kept in abeyance its recently issued circular on the admission schedule for the 2026-27 academic year, citing proposed reforms. It said revised guidelines are expected to be issued shortly.In a communication dated May 5, the board informed principals of all junior colleges across the state, including govt, private aided and unaided, co-operative, residential and welfare institutions, that the circular issued on Monday (May 4) regarding student enrolment has been temporarily withdrawn.The decision applies to institutions offering two-year Intermediate courses in both general and vocational streams, including residential, social welfare, tribal welfare, BC welfare, minority residential institutions, KGBVs, model schools, and composite degree colleges.Officials said the earlier circular was withheld in view of certain proposed changes in the admission process for the upcoming academic year. The board clarified that fresh instructions incorporating these reforms would be communicated soon. The move is likely to impact admission timelines for junior colleges across Telangana, as institutions await clarity on the revised schedule and guidelines. When contacted, TGBIE officials remained unresponsive.
