Bhubaneswar: A violent clash erupted between two groups of students of BJB College at the principal’s chamber here on Thursday over allegations of inappropriate remarks made against some female students of the institution. The confrontation turned serious, leaving two students critically injured.Sources said a group of students allegedly passed objectionable comments on some girl students associated with another group a few days back. The incident triggered resentment among students, following which the college principal called members of both groups for a discussion in his chamber to resolve the matter.However, the situation escalated during the meeting when members of one group allegedly attacked the rival faction inside the principal’s chamber with sharp weapons.Two students, Mallik Samim Atar and Jogesh Jena, sustained serious injuries in the clash. They were immediately shifted to Capital Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Officials of the college said inquiry into the attack has been initiated and local police informed about it.
