Kanpur: Special health camps for labourers will be organized on the occasion of International Labour Day in the district from April 30 to May 2.According to assistant labour commissioner Ram Lakhan Patel during this period, health check-ups will be conducted for construction workers, factory workers, domestic workers, and migrant labourers across eight industrial units, and necessary medicines will be distributed free of cost.He said this campaign will be conducted in coordination with the health department and the labour department. According to the scheduled program, camps will be organized on April 30 at Plastic Pack Limited (Panki Site-1), Navratri Foods (Sachendi), Parth Agrochem, and Sparkic LLP (Bhawanipur Mandhana).Camps will be organized on May 1 at AFS Plus (India) Pvt. Ltd. (Panki Site-1), Neyveli UP Power Ltd. (Ghatampur), and Katyayani International (Ruma), while workers will be screened on May 2 at the Defence Corridor (South).The assistant labour commissioner stated that a health team will be stationed at every site to provide necessary consultation and medication, in addition to general health check-ups. Special attention will be given to workers who do not have access to regular healthcare services.Additionally, awareness regarding health, safety, and hygiene will be promoted at workplaces.
