Gorakhpur: Three young men from Kohri Buzurg village under Gola police station were killed after an SUV, heading towards Gola from Barhalganj, crashed into a govt wheat-laden tractor-trolley parked along roadside near Bharroh late Sunday night.Police said the impact was so intense that the front portion of the vehicle got wedged into the trolley, trapping the occupants inside. Despite airbags deploying, the victims remained stuck as the mangled vehicle body collapsed onto them. Soon after, locals alerted the police. A JCB machine was brought in to extricate the victims from the wreckage.Kunal Yadav (20), who was driving, and Aman alias Ajay Yadav (21), seated beside him, died on the spot. Ankur alias Prasoon Yadav (22), who was sitting in the rear seat, succumbed to injuries while being taken to AIIMS Gorakhpur. Kunal was an intermediate student and the eldest of two brothers, while Aman and Ankur belonged to farming families.SUV owner Pushkar Yadav said that Ankur had taken the vehicle around 8pm, citing his father’s ill health. “We were later informed about the accident,” he said.SHO Rakesh Roshan Singh said no written complaint had been received so far. Both vehicles have been seized and further investigation is underway.
