Hisar: Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST) has been named the top-ranked govt varsity in Haryana in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2026. The institution secured the 74th spot in India and placed within the 501–600 band across Asia.The varsity saw its overall performance score rise to the 30.9–33.6 range, up from last year’s 29.4–31.9. Vice-chancellor Narsi Ram Bishnoi attributed the success to improvements across teaching, research environment, research quality, industry income, and international outlook.GJUST’s research credentials also contributed to the ranking, with the university boasting a Scopus index of 141, over 5,900 publications, and more than 1.74 lakh citations.
