Mysuru: An autism awareness walk was held in the city Sunday to promote awareness, acceptance and inclusion, drawing wide public participation. The walk began at Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple near Mysuru Palace and concluded at Oval Ground. Founder of Literature Club Mysore Shuba Urs, educationist Kishore Biddappa and activist Bopanna stressed the need for empathy, early intervention and equal opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum. They said inclusion must move beyond awareness to education, employment and everyday social interactions. The initiative was led by Kotera Dilip Devaiah, Ballachanda Dhanya Uthappa and Sangeetha of Padha Trust, with volunteer support from Project Reach Out. A key focus of the walk was employment opportunities for neurodivergent individuals. The event was held in association with Paddha Trust, Rotary e-Club Mysore, Project Reach Out Mysore and Eshwar Vidhyala Mysore.
