Hisar: A traffic SHO posted in Hansi has been suspended after he was found under the influence of alcohol while on duty, and allegedly created a scene at the SP office. Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar confirmed that the officer’s medical examination established alcohol consumption, following which disciplinary action was taken. Traffic SHO Prem Kumar was placed under suspension after a dispute with SP Vinod Kumar, during which his conduct and duty status came under scrutiny. According to officials, information was received that the SHO was intoxicated while on duty. Acting on the input, the police got his medical examination conducted, which confirmed alcohol consumption. Based on the report, the department initiated action and suspended him. Sources said Prem Kumar failed to report for duty despite repeated calls, following which police personnel brought him to the SP office. Allegedly in an inebriated state, he misbehaved at the office and even threw his phone during the altercation. Officials added that when he was taken to the Civil Hospital in Hansi for medical examination, he was not in a normal state. Meanwhile, Prem Kumar has presented a different version, claiming he was implementing traffic management orders near the bus stand and had removed e-rickshaws and autos from the area. He also claimed to have received a phone call from local MLA Vinod Bhayana during the exercise. An audio clip, purportedly capturing a conversation between the SHO and the SP, has also surfaced on social media.
