Thiruvananthapuram: Museum police arrested four persons, including two Bangladeshi nationals, for illegally residing and working in the city without valid travel documents.The arrested have been identified as Ruma Charnabha, 21, and Rima Sheikh, 21, both natives of Bangladesh, and the spa owners Nihu Hussain, 29, a native of Sasthamkotta, and Harikrishnan, 34, a native of Venga in Kollam district, currently residing in the state capital. Police said the two women had entered the country without passports or valid documents and were working as therapists at ‘Pearl Wellness’ spa operating at Jagathy. The spa owners were arrested for allegedly employing the two women despite the absence of mandatory identification and legal work permits. The arrests were made following a tip-off received by city police commissioner K Karthick. Acting on the information, a team from Museum police station conducted an inspection at the spa and verified the documents of the employees. During the inspection, the women failed to produce valid travel or identity documents, leading to their detention. All four accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Foreigners Act and immigration laws. Police said that further investigation is under way.
