Gandhinagar: The state govt said on Monday that the Kutch district administration brought 910 ponds from 281 villages on to revenue records for beautification, water conservation, and protection. The govt said that scientific land measurement of over 5,600 acres of land of 910 ponds across 10 talukas in Kutch was completed, paving the way for their protection and beautification.An official statement said the initiative was launched 3 months ago, and the Kutch district administration began identifying and officially recording unregistered ponds and water bodies. “Before granting official status, a scientific approach to measuring the area of the ponds was adopted to prevent future disputes and ensure smooth implementation of conservation and enhancement projects,” the statement said.The statement said that the scientific measurement of land was done in association with the office of the district inspector of land records (DILR). After measurement, final orders were issued to officially record the ponds, ensuring no future disputes over measurements.
