Vadodara: A nine-foot crocodile was rescued from the campus of Maharaja Sayajirao University on Sunday night after it was spotted moving around the open space behind the science faculty building.Volunteers from the Wildlife Rescue Trust (WRT) rushed to the spot after being told about the reptile’s presence on the campus. The crocodile was reportedly seen in the area for the last two days.Wildlife rescuer Yash Tadvi said they got the call late in the evening and reached the campus. “It was a 9-foot crocodile. It was seen moving about in the open space for the last two days,” Tadvi said.The rescue lasted for more than an hour as the volunteers carefully secured the reptile to avoid harm to people nearby. The crocodile was later handed over to the forest department. The reptile had crawled out of the Bhukhi Nulla, a tributary of the Vishwamitri that flows through the MSU campus.
