Rajkot: A Division police here registered a case after a 66-year-old man died after being hit by a rickshaw while crossing the road near Trikon Baug on Thursday.The deceased, Dilip Mehta, lived at Gayatri Nagar Main Road in the Hasanwadi area. His son, Pratik Mehta, lodged a complaint against the rickshaw driver, Mukesh Jethwa, under Section 106(1) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.In his complaint, Pratik stated that around 4pm on Thursday, he learned that his father had met with an accident while on his way to the Jubilee Vegetable Market.According to police, Dilip was crossing the road near the bus station at Trikon Baug when the rickshaw struck him, leaving him seriously injured. He was rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
