Nagpur: The Special Pocso Court on Tuesday sentenced 65-year-old Mohammad Idris Mohammad Rashid Sheikh, a resident of Yashodhara Nagar, to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹10,000, six-month simple imprisonment in default. The district and sessions judge SH Gwalani held the accused guilty under the Pocso Act.On July 11, 2023, around 9pm, the accused, known to the minor survivor as a groom, allegedly took her to roof of the house and sexually assaulted her. The girl’s complaint led to his arrest the next day.Advocate Kalpana Pandey appeared for the prosecution, while advocate Hemant Jha defended the accused.
