T’puram: A 65-year-old man was found dead after allegedly falling from the steps of his terrace at his residence in Thiruvallam on Thursday morning.The deceased has been identified as Vijayan. Neighbours discovered him lying near the steps around 9am and immediately alerted Thiruvallam police.According to police, Vijayan had gone to the terrace in the morning and is suspected to have slipped and fallen while descending the stairs. He had been living alone following the death of his wife, Sulochana. The couple had no children.Police officials reached the spot soon, and conducted a preliminary inquest. The body was later shifted to the Govt Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, for postmortem examination.Police registered a case under the provisions of unnatural death. Further investigation is under way to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
