Bengaluru: Commuters travelling through the busy Shivajinagar area will face major traffic diversions for the next two months as authorities have imposed traffic restrictions on Kamaraj Road for the reconstruction of an old stone culvert near Nala Cross.Traffic police said all types of vehicular movement will be prohibited for 60 days from May 24 to facilitate demolition of the old culvert and construction of a new RCC culvert by Greater Bengaluru Authority.Traffic movement will be temporarily restricted from Vithoba Temple up to Nala Road. Vehicles travelling from KR Road, Cubbon Road junction towards Dickenson junction via Kamaraj Road will also not be allowed during the period.Alternative routesMotorists heading towards Pulakeshinagar and Banaswadi from Commercial Street side have been advised to take a right turn near Vithoba temple, proceed via Veerapillai street, turn left near Nagamma temple, and continue through St John’s Road. Similarly, motorists from Cubbon Road side should proceed via Cubbon Road, Dickenson Road and St John’s Road, while vehicles from Dispensary Road (Alice Junction) side have been advised to continue through Dickenson Road and St John’s Road.
