Dhubri: The Assam State Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) has organised a two-day awareness campaign and training camp at two different places in Golaghat to train students in disaster mitigation.The programme was held in association with Vivekanand Kendra, NRL Hospital Numiligarh. Altogether 350 students of Joya Gogoi College and Kamargaon College of Golaghat district attended the programme.The camp was conducted to provide first-aid training to injured persons and rescue them as Assam is located in the most vulnerable seismic zone and is prone to flooding.The programme was led by Rituraj Kaushik as the master trainer, with Hemant Sarma acted serving as assistant trainer. Principals of both colleges, Dr Amiya Kumar Das and Dr Goutam Kumar Saikia, along with other staffs from hospital participated in the programme.
