Indian Hindi and Marathi language Bollywood playback singers Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar

Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday (April 12, 2026) in a hospital in Mumbai. She was 92. Known for her versatility and a sharp vocal range, Bhosle sang some of the most iconic songs in her eight-decade-long career. Her voice carried an emotional depth which left a stunning mark on the music. Her work dabbled across different musical genres including film music, Pop, Ghazals, Bhajans, Hindustani classical music, Qawwalis, folk songs and Rabindra Sangeet.
She was the sister of Lata Mangeshkar and the two added a new charm to the songs which they sung together. They collaborated for over eighty songs across different films. Here are five of the most memorable ones:
