Bathinda: BJP Punjab SC Morcha president and former IAS Officer SR Ladhar has written to Union home minister Amit Shah, urging him to review the condition of minimum 45% marks by Scheduled Caste candidates in judicial services. Due to this condition, 30 posts of judicial officers remained unfulfilled in Haryana, as out of the 39 vacancies reserved for Scheduled Caste category candidates, only 9 candidates were included in the final selection list, released in the recent past. Ladhar has mentioned that such conditions are against the spirit of the Constitution. “The central government should look into the request by the Supreme Court to Punjab and Haryana high court to sympathetically consider the representation by SC category candidates to relax the condition of 45% marks in the examination for selection of civil judge (junior division)”, stated Ladhar, adding that it is a positive sign that the apex court has urged the high court to consider the representation.
