Hazaribag: The police recovered 4,000 bottles of spurious liquor, bearing the lables of reputed India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) brands, from an illegal factory operating deep inside the forested areas of Bishnugarh police station limits. Two persons were arrested and an FIR was registered against 18 others. In the raid, which was carried out by a team by Bishnugarh officer-in-charge Sapan Kumar Mahtha, also seized equipment worth Rs 56 lakh.Mahtha said, “During the raids, police recovered around 4,000 bottles of fake liquor bearing labels of reputed IMFL brands, along with large quantities of spirit and hazardous chemicals used in the manufacturing process. An automatic liquor refilling machine, thousands of fake caps and two pickup vehicles were also seized. The accused were also affixing forged Jharkhand govt monograms and brand labels on the bottles before supplying them to the market at premium prices.”
