Dumka: More than three lakh devotees fetched Gangajal from Sultanganj and marched for over 100km on foot to offer prayers at the Baba Baidyanathdham temple in Deoghar on Monday. “All the arrangements are in place. Over three lakh people have proceeded for the Kanwar Yatra from Sultanganj to pay offerings on the second Somvari as per information provided by our Bihar counterparts,” said Deoghar deputy commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakda, who was supervising the crowd control measures since midnight.On Sunday, 2.16 lakh devotees offered prayers at Deoghar temple. Tourism minister Sudivya Kumar visited Deoghar on Sunday to take stock of the preparations. At Basukinath in Dumka, over 1.5 lakh devotees offered their prayers on Monday.
