Surat: A 32-year-old man died by suicide after allegedly killing his wife, and seven-year-old daughter, in Varjakhan village in Tapi district sometime between Thursday night and FridayAccording to Dolvan police station sources, Jatin Patel, who worked as an electrician, strangulated his 28-year-old wife Sulochana and daughter Mishwakumari, at their house. While the exact reason was not immediately known, police found that he left a cryptic Instagram story a few hours before taking the horrifying step. After killing them, Patel also died by hanging.Police said Patel worked as an electrician on a contractual basis with various agencies working with panchayats. Sulochana was employed as a catering assistant with a private agency, and their daughter was studying in Class 3.Dolvan police inspector Hiral Rabari told TOI, “The family was last seen around 10pm on Thursday. Patel’s father died a few years ago, and he was living with his mother. His mother at gone to a neighbour’s house when the incident occurred.”Police are investigating all possible reasons, including financial crisis. His mobile has been seized for further probe and statements of his friends and relatives are being taken.In his Insta story, he shared a thought that read: “Jisne Bhi Diyaa Ek Bund Bhi Sahara, Agar Jindagi Rahi to Samandar Lotaayenge. (Whoever gave even a single drop of support, if life permits, we will return an ocean).Patel identified himself as a band lover in his Insta profile and also maintained a YouTube channel where he shared many band and DJ videos.
