Mohali: Mohali police arrested 3 suspects allegedly involved in the firing incident at a house in Sector-89 on the night of Feb 17/18, which was allegedly carried out on the directions of gangsters Prince Thikriwal and Bhavjot Singh alias Bhavi. The attack was followed by an extortion demand of Rs 5 crore from the victim.Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, SP (Mohali) Saurav Jindal said the arrests were made under the guidance of SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans after an intensive investigation by the CIA staff and district police teams.The arrested accused were identified as Rishav (28), a resident of New Abadi near Monty Ice Cream in Khanna, Ludhiana district; Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukh (29), a resident of village Iklaaha under Khanna Sadar police station; and Sukhmanpreet Singh alias Sukhu (19), a resident of village Jargari under Payal police station in Ludhiana district.According to police, Rishav was a Class 12 pass and had 2 previous cases of rape and under the IT Act registered at Khanna City police station. He was arrested on March 6 from Khanna. Sukhwinder Singh, an eighth-grade pass, had 2 previous cases related to fighting registered at Khanna Sadar police station and was arrested on March 9 from Anandpur Sahib. Sukhmanpreet Singh, an 11th-grade pass with no previous criminal record, was arrested the same day from village Jargari.SP Jindal said the case was registered at Sohana police station on February 18 based on a complaint by Gurjot Singh. The complainant claimed while he was sleeping at his residence on the night of Feb 17/18, unidentified persons fired multiple shots at his house and his parked Mercedes car causing damage.
