Ahmedabad: A 26-year-old trader was allegedly abducted, stripped and subjected to brutal torture by a group of men over his live-in relationship with a married woman in Tharad.In a complaint filed with Tharad police on Saturday, the man said he was taken from his rented home late on April 2, assaulted at multiple locations, robbed of cash and belongings, and later abandoned near a village in an unconscious state. He stated he was in a relationship with the woman for nearly three years. “Though married, she wanted to stay with me, and we started living as partners,” he stated in the FIR. The couple moved cities before renting a house and taking up jobs.According to the complainant, at around 10.30pm on April 2, “several men came to our house, used abusive language and asked us to come to the police station”. He added, “They took our mobile phones, documents, Rs 32,000 cash and her gold ornaments.” He alleged that they were taken to an isolated field instead of the police station. “They separated us and I was put in another vehicle,” he told police.The victim described a prolonged and violent assault, claiming he was beaten, humiliated and told that his “time was up”. He further alleged that he was forced into the boot of a car and driven to different locations. A caller talking to one of the assailants allegedly said he was “speaking on behalf of an MLA” and asked one of the accused to punish the man severely.He has detailed his alleged torture in the FIR stating, he was also injected with substance and assaulted with pipes and belts. He was allegedly made to wear women’s clothes and forced to dance while being filmed. The assailants allegedly denied him drinking water and forced him to have water from the toilet. The man said he was made to consume an unknown substance which made him lose consciousness. Police said the man was later abandoned near a village, where locals alerted emergency services. He is currently being treated at a hospital. Police officers confirmed that multiple accused have been named.
