Rajkot: The special operations group (SOG) seized hybrid cannabis valued at Rs 2.42 lakh and arrested a 26-year-old man in the city.Acting on a specific input, SOG sleuths caught Dhruv Joshi allegedly in possession of 69.38g of the drug at JK Chowk. This is the first seizure of hybrid cannabis in the city.SOG inspector Sanjaysinh Jadeja said Joshi is originally from Mumbai and had been living in Rajkot for about two years. He claimed to have got the hybrid ganja from Ahmedabad, though police are verifying his claims, the supply chain and intended buyers.A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at DCB police station. Hybrid ganja is more potent than regular cannabis and can produce strong effects even in small quantities. While regular ganja costs around Rs 50,000 a kilogram, hybrid variants can fetch as much as Rs 35 lakh per kg, an official said.
