Kolkata: In a record number CAPF deployment, altogether 2400 companies of CAPF, including CRPF, BSF, ITBP, IRB, SSB among others, will be deployed for two-phase assembly polls in West Bengal. Meanwhile, West Bengal CEO Manoj Kumar Agarwal will be visiting the districts to review the law and order situation from next week.
Altogether 480 companies have already reached Bengal for confidence building and area domination. With the objective of ensuring free and peaceful elections in the state, an additional 1,920 companies of CAPF are coming to Bengal.
Among them, 300 companies of central forces by March 31, another 300 companies by April 7, another 300 companies by April 10, 277 companies by April 13 and 743 companies by April 17.
Of the 480 companies of central forces deployed in the state include CRPF: 230 companies, BSF: 120 companies, CISF: 37 companies, ITBP: 47 companies and SSB: 46 companies. These 480 companies of central forces will be utilized for area patrolling and for confident building. Additionally, they will be responsible for the security of EVMs, strong rooms, and counting centers.

In the post-election period—specifically after the vote counting—500 companies of central forces will remain deployed to oversee law and order in the state.
Ahead of the poll date announcement, already 480 companies of CAPF have reached Bengal and have been sent to the districts for area domination confidence.

According to Election Commission sources, supplementary lists for approximately 40,000 booths have been prepared. First Supplementary List will be published on Monday. The total 27.23 lakh cases have been adjudicated by the judicial officers appointed by the Calcutta High Court.
The total number of booths in the state stands at 80,681. The total number of adjudication list has touched 60.6 lakh, with the highest number of cases in Murshidabad and Malda.
