Pune: The Phursungi police on Friday arrested Ashutosh Kadam (24) on the charge of torching five bikes with petrol around 1am.The bikes were parked on the premises of Vishwa Heights at Ganesh Nagar on Pune-Saswad Road. Kadam, a resident of Bhekrainagar, has had an old dispute with one of the bike owners, said sub inspector Nivrutti Mane on Saturday.Mane said investigations revealed that Kadam poured petrol on a bike, ignited it with a matchstick and fled.Four other bikes parked adjacently were also engulfed because of the intense blaze. “We established the identity of the accused and took him into custody,” he added. A local court sent him in magisterial custody remand for 14 days. He was later sent to the Yerawada Central Jail.
