GURGAON: A 21-year-old man died during treatment after his scooty was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Dwarka Expressway near the Basai exit on Thursday.Pulkit Manocha, a resident of Arjun Nagar, was a third-year BCom student. He was returning from his college in Delhi on the evening of March 19 when the accident occurred. Police said an unidentified vehicle, driven rashly, hit his two-wheeler on the main carriageway.A passer-by took Manocha to a private hospital in Basai. The next day, he was shifted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi for further treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.Police said they received information about the accident on March 19 through a head constable who was on emergency duty. The damaged scooty was seized from the spot. On March 21, the private hospital informed police about the injured man, after which medical records were collected and legal formalities initiated.Following his death, Manocha’s sister, Himanshi, filed a complaint at Rajendra Park police station seeking action against the unidentified driver. Based on the complaint and medical evidence, a case has been registered under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of BNS.Police said efforts are underway to identify the vehicle and trace the driver.
