Kanpur: A road accident in Banda claimed the lives of two minor siblings and left their father with grave injuries on Sunday. The family was en route to their residence in Raghuvanshi Dera area when a fast-moving trailer struck a motorcycle carrying a father and his two young children around 8:30 am near Kanwara Bypass on Ken Road.Seven-year-old Shiva and five-year-old Priyanka died on the spot, while their father, Shyamu Yadav (38), suffered serious wounds.The trailer operator fled the scene. The children were the sole offspring of Shyamu and his wife.Kotwali inspector Balram Singh and district hospital outpost head Ramkishore Yadav took Shyamu to the district hospital before being shifted to Rani Durgavati Medical College. Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Rajveer Singh Gaur reported that the motorcycle was on the wrong side when the accident occurred.“We have seized the trailer and filed charges against the driver who remains at large,” said the DSP.
