Akola: A 19-year-old girl died after being bitten by a venomous snake while she was asleep in her home in Palso Badhe village on Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Rupali Govardhan Khandekar.According to sources, Rupali was sleeping in her room when she suddenly woke up in the middle of the night after experiencing a sharp, stinging pain in her finger. Upon closer inspection, she discovered a bite mark and noticed a venomous common krait (locally known as Maniyar) snake nearby. Her screams alerted her family, who immediately rushed her to the Government Hospital in Akola.Doctors at the hospital confirmed that Rupali had been bitten by a highly venomous snake. Despite receiving prompt medical attention, her condition worsened rapidly due to the potency of the venom, and she succumbed during treatment.Rupali was known in her community as a kind-hearted and respectful girl. Her untimely death has plunged Palso Badhe into mourning, with villagers gathering at her home to offer condolences and support to the grieving family.The incident has sparked fear across the village, particularly as the monsoon season is known for an increase in snakebite cases.
