Noida: Twelve people were arrested after a clash broke out late on Friday evening between a group of youths and a few bouncers of a bar at Sector 39’s Gardens Galleria Mall.According to police, the bouncers allegedly objected to the youths dancing outside the Impulse bar, which triggered an argument between the two groups. A senior officer said the row escalated to physical assault as members of both groups were intoxicated. Videos of the alleged incident went viral on social media, including footage of a youth being knocked to the ground and brutally beaten by bouncers and guards. In another video, a youth is seen pinned against a wall and assaulted, even as others attempt to intervene. The attackers are also heard using abusive language and ordering the youths to leave the premises.Taking cognisance of the viral videos, police initiated action and registered a case against members of both groups. Two of the youths, Azad, a resident of Atta village, and Sharas from Naya Bans, and five bouncers of the bar were arrested. Later, five additional security guards were taken into custody, bringing the total number of arrests to 12. ADCP Noida Manisha Singh said further investigation is under way.Home to many bars and restaurants, the mall has seen several such incidents of fights earlier.In March last year, police arrested four people after two groups traded blows and created a ruckus at a main square near the mall entrance, while under the influence of alcohol. In Sept last year, three men were arrested for opening fire in the mall’s parking lot after a fight. While in April 2022, a man died allegedly after he got injured in a brawl during a party at a restro-bar over bill payment. In June 2023, a woman was allegedly gangraped in the parking lot, but only filed the complaint in December that year after months of blackmail.
