Palanpur: A routine ride turned into a scene of chaos when a car was vandalised by a group of assailants on the Patan–Unjha road near Khodabha Hall on March 7, allegedly over a Rs 10 lakh financial dispute.According to the complaint filed on Saturday by Jahaji alias Jahubha Thakor (50), his friend Jitubha Rathod, a resident of Mudetha in Deesa, had lent the amount to Bhavesh Desai about a year ago. The loan reportedly sparked a long-standing feud between the parties.The incident took a dramatic turn when the MUV was intercepted near Khodabha Hall by several black cars without number plates. Jahubha alleged that Bhavesh Desai’s brother Bhargav Desai, along with associates armed with iron pipes, attacked the vehicle, targeting Jitubha. The assailants vandalised the car, causing damages estimated at Rs 40,000.In a daring escape, Jitubha rammed the attackers’ vehicles and sped toward Mandotri farm house. The group reportedly gave up the chase after noticing people nearby. Jahubha further claimed that Bhavesh Desai admitted to orchestrating the attack when contacted later.Patan B Division police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
