Mumbai: Ten persons were arrested after tension erupted in a Goregaon East locality on Sunday following a clash that left three seriously injured. Heavy police bandobast was deployed on Monday as BMC undertook a demolition drive of unauthorised structures linked to the clash.Among the three was a 12-year-old boy. Many others were injured too. Police said a religious procession was carried out by a group in Santosh Nagar, for which a sound system and drinking water stalls were put up. An argument broke out over noise and the sound system was allegedly vandalised, which sparked a fight. The groups attacked each other with sticks. Dindoshi police resorted to mild lathicharge to bring the situation under control. Police filed an FIR and used CCTV footage to identify the culprits. By Monday, 10 were arrested. More arrests haven’t been ruled out. Some of the accused face allegations of drug dealing, which police are probing. TNN
